10 Top ways to go from drab to FAB!

If you are one of those “last minute” who tends to over sleep in the mornings, rushing from the gym to do the food shopping or simply feel like not layering on the make-up some days, here are a few tips as to how you can instantly look “fabulous darling”.

Brisbane beauty salon1. Big sunnies. Can not only hide tired eyes but can instantly create a sense of mystery to your face. Putting on a pair of oversized Paris Hilton style sunnies is a great way to go from drab to fab.

2. Accesorise accesorise accesorise!!! Bright coloured beads, a few bangles around your wrist and a cute belt to break up an outfit can make you suddenly feel “made up”.

3. Swap your flats for heels. This automatically gives you better posture and you are less likely to slouch (far more ladylike). However this is not recommended for every day, as it can lead to back problems. So perhaps just the days where you need a little “umph” in your life.

4. If your hair feels like you have dipped your head in the chip pan, scrape it back into a tight high pony tail. Scrunch the ends with a dollop of moose to create more texture. Above all, don’t leave it hanging around your face, other than encouraging bacteria to spread, it’s just not pretty.

5. Pop on a bit of lippy. Lip gloss or lipstick can automatically add colour to your face, lifting your overall colour tone. Be daring with a dramatic blood red, or keep it simply and pretty with a clear to pale pink lip gloss.

6. Wrap a long knitted woollen scarf around your neck a couple of times (weather provided). Be careful not to look like a wrapped up mummy, or worse Harry Potter. Wrap it loosely around your neck a couple of times, allowing both ends to hang in front. For summer months, perhaps opt for a light scarf / neck tie. For evening wear a shawl or pashmina can look very elegant and effective (not to mention keep your shoulders warm on those chilly evenings).

7. Hats, bandanna’s and head scarves are all a fun n funky way to dress up an outfit. You can change that same old “LBD” that you have worn to the office all year but adding a pretty head scarf.

8. Instead of tying your hair up in the usual plain black hair bobbin, add some jazz… experiment with bobby pins, clips, ribbons, scrunches and hair bands. Bobbie pins are great to create that “messy, thrown up” look. Just throw it up and pin it in any old way. You can’t possibly go wrong!

9. Smile. You might think this is a strange on, but smiling makes you look so much better, more approachable and more to the point makes YOU feel better.

10. Okay this is a little naughty but, buy something. Treat yourself to a facial or body treatment. Go shopping. Wearing something new is an instant mood lifter. If you feel good, you look good (just don’t over do this or your credit card will instantly make you feel drab again).
